COLUMBUS, Ohio - Police are investigating a double shooting that left one person dead, the latest homicide victim in what is becoming a deadly year on the streets of Columbus.
Officers responding to a reported shooting at the intersection of Joyce and E. 26th Avenues just before 3:00 AM Thursday found two unidentified men in a car, homicide detectives said.
One of the men had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at 3:06 AM, the 64th homicide victim of 2010.
The other was shot in the hand and was taken to OSU Medical Center where he was treated and released, police said.
Investigators said they had no suspect or motive for the shooting early Thursday and were asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Homicide Squad at (614) 645-4730.
