It’s one thing to look upon the “forgotten” of our society and feel remorse, but it’s an entirely different set of ethics to actually DO something about it.
As half of the executive team at The Open Shelter, Mary Beittel takes the time, the care, and the love to make sure those “forgotten ranks” diminish.
Mary is responsible for over 40 payeeships; making sure that these individuals have housing, can pay their bills and strives to help them keep things that way. Empathy is certainly a key ingredient to her method, there is some “tough love" thrown into the mix as well, to encourage the people she helps to step up on their own to not only make life better but to keep it that way.
Mary offers a “hand” but is so exceptional at what she does you might not even be aware of the “push” she uses to make life better for those who thought they no longer possessed the ability to do so.
